About Us

Felt by millions.
Believed by few.

Period pain.
One of the biggest blind spots in healthcare.

Women deserve better health outcomes, and we are committed to changing that. Women’s health has been underfunded, under-researched, and undervalued for too long- resulting in an innovation gap that continues to compromise care.

Our journey begins with menstrual health not only because it affects over 80% of women globally, but because it remains one of the most underrecognized and undertreated health issues in modern medicine. It is a chronic condition with a long-term psychological impact, and leaves millions to suffer in silence with no support or long-term relief.

Melio means to make better in Latin, and days symbolize the days of our lives.

Our dream is clear.
We want to create a world where women have a say in our health and access to innovative, research-backed solutions designed by and with women, not just adapted to us.

Better days are coming.
Meliodays.

MelioOne® is a bold solution to breaking the menstrual pain cycle. It’s a simple concept that reimagines proven therapies in a new way.

We’re currently on track to start pre-clinical trials in 2025

MelioOne®:

  • Is not a contraceptive with no hormones therefore has no hormonal side effects

  • Uses painkillers (NSAIDs) with proven effectiveness as its main component

  • Uses a sustained low-dosage release mechanism that minimizes systemic side effects

  • Has the same safety as classic IUDs

  • Reduces prostaglandin production, which causes period pain and brings down inflammation during menstruation, thereby reducing pain

  • Targets pain at the site of inflammation, the uterus

Like many good stories, ours began with a question: “Why aren’t there more effective and sustainable solutions for period pain?

My female colleagues, friends and family would often share that their period pains left them feeling disempowered not just at work but in life. Many felt guilty for not being able to perform or be 100% present as a boss, colleague, a mother or a friend. The more these conversations happened, the more I realized how under-recognized and stigmatized period pain still is.

When I spoke to my brother Benjamin, he shared his experience as a gynecologist and stated, “If period pain affected men, it would be solved by now”. That was my lightbulb moment to start Meliodays.

Meliodays was founded in equal parts to solve a medical condition while serving and pursuing health equality. With Benjamin and my husband Martin, we realized we had complementary skills and backgrounds to make it a reality.

Today, period pain continues to be a silent condition and a taboo topic instead of a health priority. That’s why the team at Meliodays is working hard to create a period pain solution that targets the problem at its source, is hormone-free and safe to use long term. Our goal is for menstruating people to be able to say, “no more pain, period”.

With Love,
Simone
